Nicole Kidman talks Kununurra with Ellen DeGeneres

In case you hadn’t heard, Ellen DeGeneres is bringing her US talk show to Australia in March. The announcement came following an interview with Nicole Kidman, who, not surprisingly, recommended Kununurra as her favourite place to visit.

Nicole visited with co-star Hugh Jackman during filming of Baz Luhrmann’s movie ‘Australia’, for which Faraway Bay was one of only two locations used as a base for the crew. During production, scenes were shot of our nearby natural wonder, the King George Falls.

The movie put the Kimberley region on the world map, and even our water became famous! It became known as a ‘pregnancy potion’ after Nicole Kidman unexpectedly fell pregnant with her baby daughter Sunday Rose during production. But Kidman, who never thought she could fall pregnant, wasn’t the only one to experience the Kimberley’s fertile waters – six other women who worked on the movie also conceived during the film’s production. Amazing!
