Acclaimed East Kimberley wilderness retreat, Faraway Bay, The Bush Camp has unveiled an impressive calendar of five Cooking School events for 2010.

TV celebrity chef Pete Evans returns for the second annual Celebrity Cooking School in September.

Due to public demand Perth’s Chris Taylor will stage two Kimberley Cooking Schools in May.

And Faraway Bay will deliver two Bush Tucker and Camp Oven Cooking Schools - in June and August.

Faraway Bay owner Bruce Ellison said guests loved a gourmet experience in such a remote and unique location.

“Our Cooking Schools are hugely popular, because it’s a chance to not only learn tricks and tips from some of Australia’s best chefs, but you also enjoy the freshest local produce in an amazing location,” said Mr Ellison.

“It’s also a really laid back atmosphere, so guests have the chance to interact with the chefs and get to know them,” he said.

The Cooking Schools are conducted in open air Eagle Lodge, perched on a headland overlooking the tranquil waters of Faraway Bay.

With no walls, Eagle Lodge is ideally suited to the climate and the spectacular setting which combines guest lounging, croc-spotting, cooking and dining, all in one dramatic location.

Pete Evans, who stars in Channel 7’s new My Kitchen Rules said he and his fishing-mad brother-in-law Udo Edlinger were looking forward to returning to Faraway Bay.

“The staff are fabulous, Bruce’s laugh is infectious, the landscape is some of the best I’ve witnessed, and of course the fishing just tops it off.”

“You eat so well at Faraway Bay because you catch dinner every day – plus the guys put on a great spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

As part of the Cooking School, guests will enjoy camp oven cooking lessons, learn the art of cleaning and filleting a fresh fish, and experience a big range of seafood recipes.

“If you love seafood then you’ll be in great company – we will travel around the world with our flavours and keep it simple and delicious,” said Pete.

“The lessons will be informative, entertaining and hopefully inspirational,” he said.
